Pipeline Initiative
Future Housing Leaders (FHL) connects diverse college students to paid internship and entry-level jobs with top employers in the housing industry who are committed to diversity and inclusion. By providing access to job opportunities in sectors like housing, finance, real-estate, FinTech, and building and construction, FHL opens doors to careers in an important industry that makes a real impact in communities.
As one of the lead recruiters and core team members, I:
-
Conducted and analyzed results from focus groups and surveys to gain a deeper understanding of the gap between diverse students and employment in the housing industry.
-
Strategically identified locations (cities and universities) in which the program would be most successful in reaching high potential talent from a myriad of backgrounds.
-
Coordinated with over 21 companies within the housing industry to hire diverse talent for summer internships.
-
Led branding strategy for over 15 schools.
After one year, the program generated over 85 new hires for the participating companies. The 85 hires received high level training, access to Harvard ManageMentor and some went on to become brand ambassadors receiving offers for a second internship or an entry level position.
